To ensure members of our community can continue to safely use Bicentennial Park in the early morning or after sunset, the existing round globe lights throughout Bicentennial Park will be replaced with a more modern fixture.
The new fittings will provide brighter lighting for our residents for daily use and will be more effective when holding community events and art installations in the park.
Representing an investment of $50,000, improving lighting in the park is one of the projects to be funded by the Australian Government’s recent Local Roads and Infrastructure Program, developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Tamworth region will benefit from $6 million in total to be spent improving local infrastructure under this funding program. In the first phase of funding, our region was allocated $2.65 million, with a further $3.41 million received under the program’s second phase.
