Central Northern Regional Libraries (CNRL) is a shared library network that brings together several local councils to deliver public library services to their communities. Rather than each council operating completely independently, they work collaboratively through the regional network to provide a broader range of services, collections and expertise.

Member councils include Tamworth Regional Council, Narrabri Shire Council, Gwydir Shire Council, Liverpool Plains Shire Council, Uralla Shire Council and Walcha Council. Together, these councils support a network of 15 library branches.

Through this shared arrangement, members can borrow from any branch within the network, giving residents access to a much larger combined collection than a single standalone library could typically offer.

The CNRL Strategic Plan is due to be renewed this year and looks to the future of the shared network to shape how it serves the community. To make the Plan impactful, it’s important to hear from you, the community, on how you would like to see your libraries run and what services and opportunities you would like to see offered.
