The Tamworth Regional Housing Program is being led by organisations from across the Tamworth region. The program includes all housing sector stakeholders including industry associations, industry professionals, investors, developers, builders and trades, government agencies and not-for-profit agencies.
Since early 2021 the housing sector has seen an increase in demand for housing and rental properties in the Tamworth region, leading to low vacancy rates. With projected future growth of the region, this program seeks input from key stakeholders on how to best activate affordable housing in the short, medium and long term.
The increased demand effects businesses and organisations directly involved in the housing sector and the region as a whole. Attracting new workers and businesses to the region is made increasingly more difficult with such high demand for housing.
The initial forum of the Tamworth Regional Housing Program enables sharing of data, insights, challenges and opportunities to identify potential alignment and actions through collective and collaborative regional leadership.
