To make one of our most popular walks more accessible for our community, we will soon be upgrading the Kamilaroi Walking Trail from the Oxley Lookout to Flagstaff Mountain Lookout.

Work completed on the trail will include:

• new signage to clearly identify points along the trail
• the installation of park furniture along the route - even the fittest walkers get puffed occasionally!

This project has been made possible by the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, with the Tamworth region benefiting from $6 million in total to be spent improving local infrastructure. In the first phase of funding, our region was allocated $2.65 million, with a further $3.41 million received under the program’s second phase.
