About

Kootingal’s Gate Street will undergo an upgrade as part of the first round of funding allocated to our region by the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Infrastructure Program.

This exciting project will improve Gate Street infrastructure for the enjoyment of Kootingal residents, and is expected to support the local economy through boosting tourism outcomes for the community.

The upgrade is complete!

This project is now complete, with new footpaths, seating, removal of the large shrubs at pedestrian crossing and replaced with low plants and lighting now installed.

We thank the Kootingal community for taking the time to be so involved in the planning of this project, and providing such in depth feedback during our consultation period on 12 March - 9 April 2021.

Community feedback revealed that rather than additional planting, updating the Gate Street footpaths were the priority at this time. We hope the community is happy with their new paths and lighting!
