About

Tamworth Regional Council is committed to fostering an environment that supports lifelong learning opportunities for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

When undertaking extensive consultation to shape the Tamworth Region Creative Communities Plan 2024-2029, the community told us environments for learning, innovation and social connection were important to them. This feedback was then included in the Plan in the form of actions. The Tamworth Learning Region Plan and Tamworth Region Library Strategy will aim to provide Council with clear direction to deliver on those actions.

The Tamworth Learning Region Plan and Tamworth Region Library Strategy will be driven by the belief that learning should not be limited by age or circumstance.

By identifying barriers to learning and working with the community and providers to remove these barriers, Council is aiming to make it easier for residents to adapt to an ever-changing world. This in turn strengthens the opportunity for individuals to take charge of their personal growth and contributes to the social and cultural fabric of the community, while also supporting workforce development and innovation, helping to create a thriving local economy.

Council will seek input from the community through two phases. Phase One is to collect input through a series of survey questions, which will then be used to inform the draft plan and draft strategy. Phase Two is to create the two draft documents and seek feedback from the community through a Public Exhibition.

The outcomes of this consultation will play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive and vibrant learning environment that nurtures the growth of individuals and enriches the collective prosperity of the region.
