Manilla Pipeline

5 November 2019

$850,000 has been allocated from Council’s water reserve to fast track the construction of the planned new pipeline from the Manilla River to the Namoi River.

The pipeline, which was included in the tender for the new Manilla Water Treatment Plant, is expected to be installed within eight weeks and will allow Council to increase its pumping capacity from 1ML/day to 4ML/day.

This increased pumping capacity will be vital in assisting with water delivery efficiency from Split Rock Dam should the State Government agree to release water for Manilla only.

The cost of the new pipeline will be partially offset through its removal from the original tender.
