22 February 2021

Work on the Manilla Water Supply Upgrade is underway including the construction of the new Manilla Water Treatment Plant.

The civil construction works are mostly complete with the laying of concrete driveways and last lengths of underground pipe work installed. The steel tanks for the Flocculator, Clarifier, Filter facility have also been installed, completing the water treatment flow path through the site.

The electrical fitout has now commenced with the electrical contractor having over 50km of cables through underground conduits. Each individual conduit can have 20 or more wires in lengths of up to 160m!

The mechanical fitout has started as well with the 6 on-site pump stations taking shape. Each pump station can have over 20 pipes and fittings with over 200 bolts to install, a time-consuming process. Elevated walkways and access platforms have also been placed, ready for process equipment to be installed.
