The construction of the new Namoi River Crossing is nearing completion with the roadworks north of the bridge now complete.

The concrete deck on the bridge has been finished with the concrete barriers along each edge underway. Over the coming weeks, steel rails will be installed on top of the concrete barriers, the approach roads will be tied into the bridge, and an asphalt surface will be installed along the full length of the bridge.

Tamworth Regional Landcare have been engaged to install 1500 native plants along the banks of the Namoi River at the location of the crossing to stabilise the banks and encourage revegetation of the area.
