In March 2023 Tamworth Regional Council announced the completion of the Tamworth BMX track, pending final environmental approval which was expected in the following weeks.

This process has taken longer than anticipated and the track currently remains closed to the general public. Council is still waiting on external environmental auditors, and during this period, the Tamworth City BMX Club will be undertaking track testing under strict conditions.

Council has received reports the track is being used by the general public, and wishes to advise public access to the track remains strictly prohibited.
