Background

Over a number of years local ratepayers in Woolbrook have been advocating to change the boundary of Tamworth Regional Council and Walcha Council. Most of the township of Woolbrook is geographically-based and relate to Walcha’s closer proximity for residents who need access to goods and services.

As part of the proposal Walcha and Tamworth Regional Council need to provide opportunity for the broader community to raise any concerns with the proposal before the changes are made.

The proposed area marked in blue is being transferred to Walcha Council includes the Rural Fire Service shed, Woolbrook Hall and 19.6km of mostly unsealed roads which require ongoing maintenance.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback during the consultation period.
