What is the project?
The Aquatic, Education and Health Centre of Excellence project will deliver a fully accessible facility for current and future generations.
The facility will be located within the Tamworth Sports and Entertainment Precinct, next to the existing hockey fields, and will have two key components:
1. Aquatic Centre
2. Northern Inland Centre of Sport and Health
The project is budgeted to cost $45million. Council has secured $15 million through the NSW Government’s Centre of Excellence Fund and $9 million through the Australian Government's Growing Regions Program.
Construction is set to start in early 2026 with the project to be undertaken across three stages.
