In recent years there have been significant developments throughout the park, none more so than the construction of the Tamworth Regional Playground. This award winning playground has revitalised areas of the park that had previously been underused and as a result it has become a hub of activity both day and night.
With plans for the region and city to grow beyond 100,000 population, which will include CBD residential living, this park's importance to the city will only become more critical. It is therefore timely to incorporate a planned approach to the future of Bicentennial Park and develop a masterplan for its embellishment over the coming 20 years.
Due to the scale of the Park, it has been broken down into seven areas to address the diversity of needs that the Park facilitates.
The community is asked to provide comment on the proposed masterplan.
At the ordinary meeting held Tuesday 22 October, Council approved the draft masterplan for Bicentennial Park to be put on Public Exhibition for Community feedback before 5:00pm Thursday 28 November 2019.
We are seeking public comment before the masterplan is submitted to Council for adoption.
