Tamworth Regional Council embeds and maintains an organisational wide positive culture of risk management to enable the ongoing development and innovation required for our Community Strategic Plan and its associated strategic initiative while supporting the efficient delivery of essential services to our community.

To support this objective, we will;

• Preserve and where possible, create value for the community and our partners through a positive culture of risk management and Risk Management Framework
• Establish and maintain clear identification of risk roles and responsibilities
• Embed and maintain risk management practices in all business planning and decision making, processes and operations
• Identify and manage risks (both threats and opportunities), including confirming that risks are managed appropriately
• Maintain risk management plans and risk registers, monitor risks and controls, including Key Risk Indicators and Treatment Action Plans
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and ethical expectations
• Provide independent assurance and advice on the design and effectiveness of controls

The Draft Risk Management Policy will be on public exhibition from Friday 12 April to Friday 10 May 2024.
