In 2021, Council embarked on an exciting journey with the Kootingal community to reimagine the beloved Kootingal Hall and Library. Over a 28-day consultation period, we listened to ideas and concerns from residents regarding the proposed plans.

Following a Councillor workshop where community feedback was presented, it was unanimously agreed that preserving the integrity and heritage of the Hall was paramount. Equally important was the need for a larger library space to cater to the growing demands of our community. Plans were revised to incorporate a purpose-built adjoining section at the rear of the existing Kootingal War Memorial Hall to accommodate the library.

Friday 8 March the construction certificate was approved and Rice construction awarded the contract for design and construct.
