Treloar Park Tennis hub construction is well underway

4 November 2022

The redevelopment of the 13 Court “Treloar Tennis Hub” is nearing completion as all new concrete court bases have been poured.

Currently 6 courts have been completed to International Standards with the TNS cushioned acrylic surface.

2 new recreational courts with synthetic grass surfaces are also complete while the remaining courts are due for completion in November.

The precinct will beilluminated with “State of the Art” LED lighting system including TV grade lighting on the Show Court- number 1.

This project is redeveloping the Treloar Park Tennis Centre into a major hub for New England and surrounding districts, capable of hosting events of international, national, state and regional standings and provide an enhanced pathway and community play opportunities for local players.

Tamworth Regional Council Manager for Project Planning and Delivery, Mark Gardiner gave an update to local media explaining wet weather and supply constrains have pushed back the timeline for the $3.6 million international-standard tennis centre, which is slated to open by March next year.

The slope of the East Tamworth site had created an "extra challenge" to squeeze the 13 courts in.

We are hoping as courts are completed there will be a chance we could implement a staggered opening to get players back to the centre as soon as possible.
