What is the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program?

The Australian Government’s Local Roads and Infrastructure Program, first announced in May 2020, was developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming to support local jobs and businesses as they emerged from a tough period for the Australian economy.

Here is an overview of the funding our region has received in this program, which has delivered a range of projects including new public amenities, shared paths, and recreation facilities.

  • Phase One – $2.65 million for 15 projects between July 2020 and June 2024
  • Phase Two – $3.41 million to complete 29 projects between January 2021 and June 2024
  • Phase Three - $5.3 million for 33 projects between January 2022 and June 2024.
  • Phase Four –$4.2 million to complete 10 projects between July 2023 and June 2025
